About the Artist:
 

Kathryn Leonard lives in Annapolis, Md. She grew up on the Severn River. For the last ten years she has kept a studio on the South River. Water and light have been a powerful influence on her throughout her life.

She began her education at Severn School and continued on to receive a B.A. in French and Studio Arts from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. During her undergraduate studies she was accepted to study under Bernard Phriem at the Lacoste School of Arts in Lacoste, France, a program accredited through the Cleveland Institute of the Arts. Since receiving her degree she has done post-graduate studies at the Anderson Ranch Center in Snowmass, Co, Mosman College in Sydney, Australia, and at St. John's College in Annapolis, Md.

Her style reflects her travels throughout the world. She attempts to take her impressionist training and adapt it to her multi-media whimsical imagery. Texture, color and pattern are the most recognizable elements in her works. Ms. Leonard's work has been widely received in her home town, nationally and internationally. She has worked with large corporate campaigns, charitable institution, international maritime projects, and a multitude of group and one woman exhibitions as well.
